The Kia EV9 Electric SUV flagship vehicle from Kia launched in India today (3 October). The company claims that the car will run more than 541km on a full charge. It comes with high-level features like a Highway Driving Pilot (HDP) system.
Apart from this, for safety, it has been provided with features like 9 airbags and 360-degree camera and Level-2 ADAS. The company has introduced the car only in GT-Line trim with a 6-seater layout.
Kia EV9 Electric SUV is priced at Rs 1.30 crore (introductory, ex-showroom pan-India). It is Kia’s most expensive electric car in India.
Exterior Design: Digital Pattern Lighting Grille
Modern LED lighting elements have been provided in the front of the Kia EV9. It gets dual clusters of small cube lamps, a digital pattern lighting grille, vertical headlamps and the signature ‘digital tiger face’ with ‘star map’ LED DRLs. The company has named it Star Map DRL.
A tapered roof line and 19-inch alloy wheels will be available on the side. At the rear, a black bumper with vertically stacked LED taillight and silver skid plate is provided. The overall look of the car is boxy and SUV shape.
Kia EV9 Electric SUV’s screen setup
The cabin of the Kia EV9 is based on the theme of a black and brown colour combination. It comes with a black-finish floating dashboard with a triple-integrated screen setup. It includes two 12.3-inch screens and a 5.3-inch climate control display.
Below the central screen, vertical hidden-type touch-input controls for start-stop, climate control, ventilation system, media and other settings are provided on the dashboard. Captain seats with leg support, a massage function and an electrically adjustable steering wheel are provided in the second row.
Apart from this, the Indian model of Kia EV9 also has features like an individual sunroof for the front and second row, digital IRVM, relaxation feature for front and second-row seats with leg support and 64 colours ambient lighting. The captain seats are provided in the second row of EV9 which can be power adjusted in 8 ways.
Safety Features: 10 Airbags and Level-2 ADAS
For safety, the electric SUV has been provided with safety features like 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors. It also has a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), under which functions like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist are available. The electric SUV has received a 5-star safety rating in Euro NCAP and Asian NCAP crash tests.
