Doctors’ Safety Becomes a National Concern

The issue of ensuring doctors’ safety has now escalated to a national level. The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) recently issued a warning letter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In the letter, FAIMA warned that if immediate steps are not taken to protect doctors and address their demands, medical services across the country will be suspended.

Mamata Fails to Fulfill Promises to Doctors

Kolkata: The dispute between Mamata Banerjee and R.G. Medical College continues to intensify. The situation erupted after the rape and murder of a female trainee doctor. In response, junior doctors went on strike, demanding justice and safety. Although Mamata had promised to fulfill their demands, no concrete steps have been taken so far. As a result, 120 doctors from R.G. Medical College have already resigned, causing chaos in West Bengal’s government hospitals.

Accusations of Betrayal Against Mamata

Mamata Banerjee is now facing accusations of not living up to her promises. The Federation of All India Medical Association has appealed to her to resolve the grievances of junior doctors without further delay. FAIMA has accused the government of failing to provide a safe working environment for doctors and warned that any harm to these doctors would lead to a nationwide shutdown of medical services, with Mamata’s government held responsible.

Despite the passage of two months since the heinous crime against the female doctor, no justice has been delivered, and doctors’ demands remain unaddressed. Attacks on doctors are still occurring, while the conflict between Mamata Banerjee and the doctors of R.G. Medical College continues to escalate.
