Loksabha: UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has once again targeted SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. He says that the way Akhilesh got upset on being asked about Rahul Gandhi’s caste, he seems less of a leader and more of a courtier of the Gandhi family. The video of the debate between Anurag Thakur, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav is going viral on social media. After which all the leaders are seen taking a dig at each other.
What was the matter
Actually, on Tuesday 30 July, the budget was being discussed in Parliament. Where Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the House Rahul Gandhi and Anurag Thakur clashed with each other on the issue of caste census. Anurag Thakur said that those who do not know their own caste talk about caste. On this, Rahul Gandhi and the entire Congress party created a ruckus in the Parliament. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav was also seen supporting Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi made this allegation
Rahul Gandhi accused Anurag Thakur and said that ‘Anurag Thakur’ has abused me and insulted me. But he does not want to apologize for this. Rahul further said that whoever talks about the benefits of Dalits has to face abuses, I will happily take all these abuses. Giving the example of Arjun of Mahabharata, he said that just like he could only see the eye of the fish, I too can only see the caste.
Did not take anyone’s name – Anurag Thakur
After this counter-attack by Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav also stood up from his seat and attacked the central and ruling party while supporting Rahul Gandhi. He asked that ‘How can someone’s caste be asked in the House? On this, Anurag Thakur took Rahul Gandhi to task and said that “I did not take anyone’s name but who stood up to answer.
Sambit Patra came in support of Anurag Thakur
Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Sambit Patra also came in support of Anurag Thakur. He said that first of all Anurag did not take anyone’s name, yet Rahul Gandhi took it upon himself and created such a ruckus. Sambit further said that why does the party which wants caste census get so angry when its caste is asked. He said that a few days ago Rahul had asked about the caste of a journalist in a meeting. Rahul Gandhi had also made a wrong comment on the caste of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But no one can ask him about his caste. This is just arrogance.
