Forced Religious Conversion in MP: Taking forward the BJP’s stand on alleged cases of ‘love jihad’, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that his government will bring a law ensuring death penalty for those guilty of forced religious conversion.
Mohan Yadav made this announcement during an event organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day. He said that forced religious conversion will not be allowed in the state.
The Chief Minister said, “Our government is extremely strict against those who commit atrocities against our innocent daughters. We will not spare those who force them to convert. Such people do not deserve to live.”

CM Mohan also stressed that the government is working on amending the Religious Freedom Act to provide for the death penalty for forced religious conversion. According to Yadav, the state government is committed to protecting the rights and freedom of women and ensuring that no one can force them to change their religion.
The Chief Minister further said that now forced religious conversion will be considered a heinous crime and will be punished with death penalty if found guilty. He assured that the state government is committed to protecting the honour and rights of women and girls.

If the Madhya Pradesh government implements this provision, it will become the first state in the country to impose death penalty for forced religious conversion.

After Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced this during the program, a post in this regard was also uploaded on his social media account. A tweet was shared from the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, which read, “The Madhya Pradesh government is committed to protecting the dignity and honour of our daughters. Now there will be a provision of death penalty for those guilty of forced religious conversion of daughters in Madhya Pradesh.”
Women Take Charge of CM Mohan Yadav’s Security and Office on Women’s Day
On the occasion of Women’s Day today, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav handed over the responsibility of his office in Bhopal to women. Even his security arrangements were in the hands of women police personnel. Interestingly, his car was also being driven by a woman driver.
