Mahendra Singh Dhoni: MSD was not only known as a great captain, excellent finisher, and magnificent batter during his International Cricket career with the Indian cricket team. But Mahi Bhai is even now regarded as one of the best wicketkeepers in the world.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni made his international debut in 2004 in a One-Day International match against Bangladesh. He was selected in the squad for the double role of wicketkeeper and batsman. In the first two matches, Dhoni’s performance was poor with the bat and behind the stumps.
It wasn’t sure that MS Dhoni would be selected in the third match. But Mahi didn’t lose hope and in the third match of the series, Dhoni showed his class behind the stumps. He quickly grabbed the opportunity and sent the Bangladeshi batsmen on his way to the pavilion.
In the third match of his international cricket career, Dhoni affected the first stumping of his International match career. He made this stumping in the match which was played against Bangladesh in Dhaka in 2004 when the Men in Blue toured that country for a three-match series.
When Bangladesh’s Rajin Saleh was batting. The Indian Skipper of that time, Sourav Ganguly called Sachin Tendulkar to bowl. Sachin too didn’t let Ganguly down. Tendulkar did the work which Skipper Sourav asked him to do. When Sachin bowled to Saleh, the Bangladeshi batsmen came forward to hit the ball, but the ball went into Dhoni’s gloves and Dhoni promptly stumped and dismissed the Bangla batsmen Saleh.
The first stumping of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s career came On This Day in 2004 when the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar bowled. After that, Dhoni never looked back, and he went on to create many records as the wicketkeeper and batsman of the Indian Cricket Team.
MS Dhoni is still the best and most successful wicketkeeper in International Cricket World. He did a great job behind the stumps. MS Dhoni had fast hands which helped him to whip the bails off in a flash. He had done this magic many times in his International career.

Mahi Bhai has stumped 123 batters out in the One Day International format, which is the most by any wicketkeeper in the world. In the red ball format, MSD is ranked fourth in the list of the most stumpings. He has 38 stumpings to his name and in T20Is, Mahi again tops the list with the most stumpings. He has 34 stumpings in the shortest format.
