Maruti Suzuki has launched the new generation model of its best-selling sedan Dzire in India. It has been introduced in both petrol and CNG powertrain options. The company claims that the CNG version of the car will give a mileage of 33.73km/kg.
The special thing is that recently the car was crash tested at Global NCAP, where it got a 5-star safety rating. It is the company’s first car to get a 5-star safety rating from any crash test agency.
The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire is based on the platform of the company’s hatchback Maruti Swift, but its design is completely different. The manufacturer has introduced the car with an electric sunroof, standard 6 airbags, and many segment-first features.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Price starts at Rs. 6.79 Lakh
The company has launched the sedan in the market in 4 variants: LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI +. They have set the ex-showroom starting price of the updated model at Rs 6.79 lakh, which rises to Rs 10.14 lakh for the top variant ZXI Petrol CNG. This price remains valid only until the end of 2024.
Maruti Dzire can be taken on a subscription basis, whose instalment starts from Rs 18,248 per month. This includes registration, maintenance, insurance and roadside assistance. It will compete with the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor in the segment.
Design: 15-inch alloy wheels with LED headlights
Although the 2024 Dzire shares its platform with the Swift hatchback, designers have completely changed its look. The front features a large grille with multiple horizontal slats.
Sleek LED headlights flank the grille on both sides, featuring DRL (Daytime Running Light) positioned in a horizontal layout. The strong-looking front bumper now showcases a new style of fog lamp housing.
However, its side profile and window line still look similar to the old version. For riding, it has newly designed 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, a Y-shaped LED taillight connects to a chrome element.
Interior: Design inspired by Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift and Fronx
The new generation Dzire has a completely new dashboard layout with a black-and-white dual-tone theme. It has a 9.0-inch floating infotainment system, sleek AC vents and HVAC controls below.
Apart from this, the car will get wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, connected car technology, more than 40 connected car features, wireless charger, semi-digital cluster with 4.2-inch MID, steering wheel mounted controls, automatic climate control, push-button start, rear parking camera with sensors and much more.
To ensure the safety of the passengers, the designers have included safety features like 6 standard airbags, a 360-degree camera (first in its segment), electronic stability control (ESC), and rear parking sensors.
Performance: Mileage of 33.73 km/kg in CNG
The sedan underwent its biggest change in the powertrain. The new Z-series 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which comes in the new Swift, has now replaced the K12 four-cylinder petrol engine found in the current model. This engine generates 82hp of power and 112Nm of torque.
In comparison, the current model generates 90hp and 113Nm, which is 8hp and 1Nm less. For transmission, the new Swift will have the option of a 5-speed manual and automatic (AMT) gearbox with the engine. The same engine generates 70hp of power and 102Nm of torque with CNG.
Talking about mileage, the company claims that the car gives a mileage of 24.79 km/litre with manual transmission with petrol engine and 25.71 km/litre with automatic transmission.
At the same time, only a manual transmission option is available in CNG, with which the car gives a mileage of 33.73 km/kg.
