MG Astor has increased the price of its compact SUV Astor by up to Rs 27,000. MG launched the facelift of Astor in the Indian market this year. The car has more than 49 safety features with 14 level-2 ADAS features. Apart from this, the SUV comes with personal AI assistance as before.
Its Savvy Pro 1.3 Turbo AT (Sangria Red) variant, CVT (Ivory) and 1.5 CVT (Sangria Red) models have become costlier by Rs 27,000. On the other hand, they have increased the price of Sharp Pro 1.5-litre CVT (Ivory) by Rs 26,000. The company has increased the price of the Select 1.5 CVT (Ivory) SUV by Rs 21,000 and the price of the Sharp Pro 1.5-liter MT (Ivory) variant by Rs 24,000.
Similarly, the price of Select 1.5-litre MT (Ivory) and Shine 1.5-litre MT (Ivory) variants has increased by Rs 20,000. Earlier in June this year, the price of Astor was increased by up to Rs 26,800. The price of the SUV starts at Rs 9.98 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.35 lakh (prices, ex-showroom).
In India, it competes with Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushak.
What’s new
The new Astor comes with many new features like front ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM and a wireless phone charger. The car now has 49+ safety features with a 360-degree around-view camera and 14 level-2 ADAS safety features.
The manufacturers have now made the 10.1-inch infotainment system standard across all variants of the SUV and have upgraded it with Smart 2.0 UI. It now gets more connected car features than before, including weather, news, calculator and voice commands with the Jio voice recognition system. Its infotainment system now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
2024 Astor: Features
Like the current model, the car gets features like automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 6-way power adjustable driver seat. For passenger safety, the designers have equipped the vehicle with safety features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill ascent and descent control, and heated ORVMs.
It also has an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping/departure assist, and blind spot detection.
2024 Astor: Performance
No changes have been made to the engine and gearbox of the new MG Astor. It has two engine options as before. One of these is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 110ps of power and 144Nm of torque.
At the same time, the second is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, which generates 140ps of power and 220Nm of torque. For transmission, the option of 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and CVT gearbox has been given.
