Movie Review: How Did You Find The Film Phir Aayi Hasseen Dilruba

Must read

Movie Review: The film Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, released on Netflix on August 9, is packed with thriller elements. If you have seen the Taapsee Pannu starrer Haseen Dilruba, which was released in 2021, this film continues the story. Many new characters are introduced, all of whom are interconnected. The film features action, drama, and suspense, but whether these elements are balanced effectively and if the film succeeds as a sequel will be explored in the review.

What’s The Story?

Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, a sequel to Haseen Dilruba. Therefore, if you have not seen the original film, you may find it difficult to understand the sequel. This time, the story of Rani and Rishu begins in Agra, shifting from Jwalapur. Both are still striving to live happily together. However, Rani’s life takes a turn with the entry of another character, Sunny, who is a doctor, falls in love with her at first sight. The question remains whether Rani will reciprocate his feelings or continue her love for Rishu. As in the first film, a murder will feature prominently, but it will be challenging to determine the identity of the murderer. Taapsee Pannu, who plays Rani, is seen saying, “Jalan bhi laal, Gussa bhi laal, Khoon bhi lal, aur Ishq bhi laal, “which likely hints at the film’s exploration of these themes.

How is the film?

You might find the film slightly less engaging than the first part. While sequels often suffer in quality, this film manages to avoid that pitfall. The initial half-hour may feel a bit slow, but the excitement picks up significantly thereafter. Alongside Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill also deliver strong performances. Jimmy Shergill, as Neel’s uncle who is a policeman, takes a personal interest in the case. The film concludes in a way that suggests the possibility of another sequel.
