NEET PG 2025 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The syllabus of NEET PG 2025 will be based on the Graduate Medical Education Regulations prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The exam will cover subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, general medicine, general surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, radiology and orthopaedics.

NEET PG 2025 Exam to be Conducted in Two Shifts

The NEET PG 2025 exam will be held in two shifts in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

  • First shift: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Second shift: 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM

This medical entrance exam is conducted for admission to MD, MS, DNB and Diploma programmes. Last year, the exam was initially scheduled for June 23 but was later postponed to August 11. It was conducted in two shifts at 416 centres across 170 cities and the results were declared on August 23.

NEET PG 2025 Exam Pattern

This year, the NEET PG 2025 exam will follow the pre-COVID pattern, meaning there will be no Section-B in the paper.

  • Total Questions:180
  • Physics: 45 questions
  • Chemistry: 45 questions
  • Biology: 90 questions
  • Exam Duration: 180 minutes (3 hours)
  • Marking Scheme: +4 marks for each correct answer

Important Guidelines for NEET PG 2025 Candidates

Prohibited Items at the Exam Center: Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying the following items inside the exam hall:

  • Electronic gadgets (mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, etc.)
  • Food items
  • Handbags, belts, caps
  • Jewellry such as rings, bangles, nose pins, chains, or necklaces

Mandatory Documents to Carry: Candidates must bring the following documents to the exam center:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID (PAN card, driving license, voter ID, passport, or Aadhaar card with a photograph)
  • Barcoded admit card
  • Photocopy of Provisional SMC/NMC registration
