PAK Vs BAN: The two-match series played between Pakistan and Bangladesh ended with a historic win for the Bangla Tigers. Bangladesh has won their maiden red ball series against the Men in Green and that too in Pakistan. Under the captaincy of Shan Masood, Pakistan lost the series by a margin of 2-0.

The first and the second matches of this two-match Test series were played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. Bangladesh won the first test match by 10 wickets, which was their first-ever Test win against Pakistan in the red ball format and the Tigers won the second match by 6 wickets to complete their first-ever clean sweep over Pakistan in Test match history.

In this segment, today we shall point out the four top performers from Bangladesh in the second Test match, which allowed The Bangla Tigers to win this series and also celebrate their historic moment of glory –

1. Mehidy Hasan Miraz

The spin bowling all-rounder had delivered with bat and ball for Bangladesh in this historic win. The visitors, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first and Hasan delivered a magical spell which allowed his team to bundle a batting powerhouse unit of Pakistan for just 274 runs in their 1st innings.

Mehidy spun a web for Pakista in the first innings where he picked up a five-wicket haul. He bowled 22.1 overs with two maidens and got 5 wickets for 61 runs. In reply, the batters of Bangladesh struggled at the start and it didn’t seem that, they would reach Pakistan’s 1st innings score.

The Tigers were placed at 26 runs with the loss of six wickets. Pakistan was in the top position at that point. But the partnership between Hasan and Das lifted the Bangla Tigers from that position. Mehidy Hasan Miraj scored a vital 78 runs in the first innings which helped Bangladesh to reach a score which was closer to the total of Pakistan.

2. Litton Das –

The wicketkeeper batter of Bangladesh stepped up when his team needed him the most. Litton Das scored a brilliant century and took Bangladesh away from that reeling position of 26/6. Das smashed 138 runs in the first innings which led the foundation for this big win. Litton was also named as the player of the match for this match-winning knock.

3. Hasan Mahmud –

Pakistan’s batting went from bad to worse in the second innings of this last match of the series which they had to win. The hosts, Pakistan scored 274 runs and they also had a lead of 12 runs to make a match of it. But the Bangladeshi bowler Hasan Mahmud ripped the batters of Pakistan apart.

Mahmud picked up a five-wicket haul in the second innings which allowed Pakistan to score just 172 runs. In just 10.1 overs with one maiden and 43 runs, Hasan Mahmud picked up five wickets to his name and because of that Bangladesh also got an easy target to chase in their last innings.

4. Zakir Hasan –

While chasing a target of 185 runs to win the two-match red ball series, the Bangla Tigers needed a steady start in the run chase. The Bangladeshi openers who got a 10-wicket victory in the first Test match again got involved in this match with the stand of 58 runs in the second innings. Zakir Hasan, the opening partner of Shadman Islam was the top scorer in the 2nd innings with 40 runs for Bangladesh.
