Pakistani Nationals to Be Expelled from Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta Says Centre’s Order Will Be Enforced Strictly

All Pakistani nationals living in Delhi will be sent back to Pakistan. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta announced on X that the Home Ministry has cancelled all visas issued to Pakistani nationals from April 27, 2025 – except medical, diplomatic and long-term visas.

Existing medical visas will also become invalid after April 29, 2025. No new visas will be issued to Pakistani nationals after this date. The Delhi government is ensuring strict compliance of these orders.

Government Closely Monitoring the Situation: CM Rekha Gupta

Rekha Gupta said that if any Pakistani citizen violates the orders issued by the central government, strict action will be taken against him. She stressed that the situation is being monitored very seriously.

Exemptions Granted Only to Select Categories

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Home Ministry had issued instructions regarding cancellation of SAARC visas for Pakistani nationals. In line with this instruction and exercising powers under Section 3(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, the government has decided to suspend visa services for Pakistani nationals with immediate effect.

All existing valid visas issued to Pakistani nationals – except medical visas, long-term visas (LTVs), diplomatic and official visas – have been cancelled from April 27, 2025. The order will not apply to those holding long-term visas (LTVs), diplomatic or official visas issued by the Indian government.

Amit Shah Issues Directive to All Chief Ministers

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday called all state chief ministers and directed them to ensure that no Pakistani national stays in India beyond the stipulated time limit for departure.

He also directed the chief ministers to identify Pakistani nationals living in their respective states and take necessary steps to ensure their deportation.
