Paris Olympic 2024: Manu Bhaker has created history by winning two medals in the Paris Olympics 2024. With this, she has become the first female shooter in the country to win two medals in the Olympics. Recently, she won a bronze medal in the women’s individual 10m air pistol final. After which on Tuesday, July 30, she won another bronze medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol final with Sarabjot Singh. After that she became the first athlete of independent India to win two medals in the same Olympic Games.

Who brought two medals before Manu Bhaker

Norman Pritchard, the first player to go to the Olympics from India before Manu, won two silver medals in athletics during the 1900 Games. After that no player has managed to win 2 medals in a single Olympics. However, there are players who have won a total of two medals in the Olympic Games. These include Sushil Kumar and PV Sindhu.

Let us tell you that Sushil won a bronze medal at the Beijing 2008 Games before winning the silver medal at London 2012. After which he became the first Indian athlete to win more than one medal in two different Olympics. The same badminton player PV Sindhu won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics. And after that won the bronze medal at Tokyo 2020.

Manu and Sarabjot defeated South Korean team

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh defeated the Korean pair of Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho in the mixed team 10m air pistol final to finish third and win the bronze medal for India. Manu and Sarabjot had secured third place by scoring 580 points in the qualifiers, while the Korean pair finished fourth with 579 points.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi posted a post on Twitter congratulating both the players.
