Happiness on one side, sadness on the other
The beginning of Paris Olympics 2024 brought as much happiness for India, as it brought sadness by the evening. On this day, while Swapnil Kusale won India’s third medal in shooting, on the other hand, the country’s star shuttler PV Sindhu missed a hat-trick of medals in the Olympics and her journey to Paris Olympics 2024 ended.
PV Sindhu missed a hat-trick
India has suffered a major setback in the 2024 Olympic Games. The country’s star shuttler PV Sindhu’s Paris Olympics journey ended in the Round of 16 itself.
China’s He Bingjiao defeated her 21-19, 21-14 in straight sets. This is her first Olympics from where she has been eliminated without winning. Prior to this, she had won silver in Rio 2016 and bronze in Tokyo 2020.
PV Sindhu could not make a comeback in the game
The Indian player started the game well, but Bingjiao soon took the lead. Sindhu equalized 12-12 and then 19-19, but in the end Bingjiao won the first set 21-19. Sindhu tried to make a comeback in the second set as well, but Jiao dominated and won the set 21-14.
I lost today – PV Sindhu
She tried her best but Bingjiao’s attack was so strong that Sindhu’s efforts fell short. Due to which she had to face defeat. After this she looked very disappointed and sad. Sindhu says that she could not control her mistakes in the second set due to which this happened.
“It is very disappointing, in sports one will win and one will lose, and today I lost” said PV Sindhu.
