Pink Ball Test Match: The Border Gavaskar Trophy is now levelled to 1-1 after the Aussies won the second Test match which was a Pink Ball Test Match played at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Australia won that game by a margin of ten wickets.
India had a terrific start to the tour of Australia in Perth. It was just the second time that the Men in Blue won an opening Test match in the Aussies Nation. The first time that, India won the 1st Match of the red ball series against Australia was in 2018 when Virat and Co also won their first-ever series on Australian soil.
But in the second match of this series, Australia outplayed India like the visitors did to the home side in the first red ball match at Perth. India could amass just 180 in 1st innings and 175 runs in 2nd innings while Australia scored a mammoth 337 runs in their 1st innings and even chased 18 runs as a target to win the second match in their last outing.
Today We Shall Mention The Top 5 Performers Of The 2nd Test Match At The Adelaide Oval In Adelaide –
1. Mitchell Starc –
The Aussies continued their good run in the Pink Ball Test Match because of their lead pace bowler, Mitchell Starc. He picked up six wickets in the first innings when the Men in Blue amassed just 180 runs. Starc dismissed Yashaswi Jaiswal on the first ball of India’s first innings. The Aussie pacer picked up 6 wickets for just 48 runs in 14. 1 overs.
2. Travis Head –
Australia’s number five loves playing against India in all three forms of the game. His centuries in the WTC Final and ODI World Cup Final in 2023 still haunt every Indian fan. In the second innings of the first match, Head also scored an attacking half-century and at Adelaide in the Pink Ball Test Match, Travis raced away to 140 runs off just 141 deliveries. He was the Player Of The Match in the second Test match.
3. Pat Cummins –
The captain of Australia led the team from the front in the second innings of the Pink Ball Test Match. He bowled with good lines and lengths and picked up a five-wicket haul to his name, which never allowed the Indian batsmen to settle. India lost the wickets at regular intervals. Cummins picked up five wickets for 57 runs in his 14 overs.
4. Nitish Kumar Reddy –
The only Indian batter who looked impressive in the Pink Ball Test Match was Nitish Kumar Reddy. He didn’t score any half-century or a Hundred. But his knock of 42 runs in both innings was very useful for the team’s cause. On his very first tour of the Aussie nation, Nitish played well in both innings of the Perth Test match as well.
5. Jasprit Bumrah –
The man who won his first-ever Test match as a skipper in Perth by a convincing margin was again in the scheme of things in the Pink Ball Test Match as well. Boom Boom Bumrah picked up four scalps to his name in the 1st innings and he gave away 68 runs in 23 overs with an economy rate of 2.70, which was much better than Mohammed Siraj in this match. Bumrah always makes the ball talk instead of showing unnecessary aggression on the field.
