However, Russia has not given any specific reason behind cancelling PM Modi’s visit. It is being speculated that this decision has been taken in view of the current security situation after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. However, India has not yet given any official response in this matter.
Earlier this month, the Ministry of External Affairs had confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited by Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the Victory Day parade in Russia on May 9.
