India and France are finalizing two major defense deals. Meanwhile, PM Modi is expected to visit Paris in February to attend the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron. According to sources, this visit of PM Modi may take place after the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 are over.
After Russia, now France is also considering building an Artificial Intelligence (AI) partnership with India. The French President’s Office has announced that it has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit to be held in Paris in February 2025. France has described India as a very important country.

France has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit in Paris in February 2025. The summit will focus on key AI topics, including misinformation and misuse. President Macron emphasized the potential impact and contribution of India in the summit’s objectives.
Bi-lateral Meeting Possible
Sources have indicated that Prime Minister Modi is expected to visit Paris for the AI summit, and a bilateral meeting may also take place during the visit. Both sides are working on finalizing some deals that are in the final stages. Another source has also confirmed this.
France and India Defence Deal
The defence deal being finalized between France and India is worth approximately 10 billion dollars. It includes 26 Rafale M fighter jets for the Indian Navy and three additional Scorpène-class conventional submarines. These deals will be presented to the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) for approval in the coming weeks.
