LPG Tanker Blast in Jaipur: In Jaipur, an LPG tanker exploded on Friday morning, resulting in the death of 11 people. Over 40 others were injured in the accident, several of whom are in critical condition.
The LPG tanker was coming from Ajmer to Jaipur. As the tanker was taking a U-turn near DPS school, a truck coming from Jaipur side collided with the nozzle of the tanker. Around 18 tonnes of gas leaked from the nozzle, creating a gas chamber within a radius of 200 metres. Within seconds, there was a huge explosion in the tanker, setting nearby vehicles on fire.

The explosion was so powerful that the flames reached the sky. A sleeper bus parked at the accident site was carrying 34 passengers. The bus was completely engulfed in flames and 20 people were badly burnt. Many birds also died in the fire.
Even six hours after the explosion, suffocation and burning sensation in eyes persisted in the area. Many nearby vehicles were burnt to ashes.
GAIL India officials said that the crude oil pipeline located 100 meters away from the accident site is safe, but the area has suffered a lot of damage.
Investigation and Relief Operations Ongoing
After several hours of hard work, the fire brigade team brought the fire under control. The causes of the accident are being investigated. The administration has assured all possible help to the victims.
The injured ones have been admitted to various hospitals in Jaipur. Efforts are on to search for the missing and identify the dead.
This tragic incident highlights the ignorance and negligence of safety standards. This is a warning to everyone from the administration to the common citizens that safety measures should be given priority.
