In the year 2024, the Ram Mandir of Ayodhya has made all the records of tourism. According to the tourism department of UP, Ayodhya has become the top destination of UP in the year 2024, leaving behind the Taj city. According to reports, between January and September, Ayodhya received 135.5 million domestic tourists and 3,153 international tourists, while Agra received 125.1 million tourists, including 115.9 million domestic and 924,000 international tourists. Ram temple is considered to be the main attraction behind this increase.

This year this figure was crossed in nine months- Ram Mandir

Giving information about this, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said that last year 48 crore tourists came to UP, which proved to be a milestone, but this year this figure has been crossed in just nine months. At the same time, industry experts are attributing this boom to the increasing popularity of religious tourism. That is, this time people have shown interest in religious tourism and their attraction towards the Taj Mahal has decreased.

Varanasi, Mathura are also in the race

Along with Ayodhya, a large number of domestic and foreign tourists also reached other spiritual places like Varanasi, Mathura and Prayagraj. Varanasi received 62 million domestic tourists and 184,000 international tourists, while Mathura received 68 million visitors. Due to Kumbh Mela and other religious events, 48 million tourists also reached Prayagraj.

Given the increase in the number of tourists in Ayodhya after the inauguration of Ram temple, it is expected that this number may increase further in the coming months. Especially in January, when the anniversary of the inauguration of Ram temple will be celebrated.
