What is AFSPA?

AFSPA gives extensive powers to the armed forces in the”maintenance of public order” deemed necessary for searching, arresting, and shooting in disturbed areas. A region or district is declared disturbed under AFSPA to make the operation of armed forces convenient. It should be noted that Shah previously stated that AFSPA has been removed from 70% of areas in northeastern states, although it is applicable in Jammu and Kashmir.

Farooq and Mehbooba do not have the right to speak on terrorism.

Shah targeted opposition leaders Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti. Home Minister said that National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti tried their best to create bitterness on these reservations, but now people understand their intentions. He claimed that when terrorism was at its peak, Abdullah went to England. Amit Shah said that Abdullah and Mehbooba both have no right to speak on this issue. Shah says that as many fake encounters happened during their time, they didn’t happen in any other regime. Shah further says that we will talk to the youth of Kashmir, not with organizations whose roots are in Pakistan.

Steps taken to curb terrorism.

Shah says that restrictions have been imposed on 12 organizations for involvement in terrorist activities, 36 individuals have been named as terrorists, more than 22 cases have been registered to stop terrorist financing, and property worth 150 crores has been seized. It should be noted that Shah says that we have established peace and peace cannot be bought. Whoever wants to negotiate will have to do so within the framework of the Constitution.
