Rohit Sharma Will Lead The Indian Team In The Four Consecutive ICC Finals In ICC Champions Trophy 2025 –
India will play their fourth back-to-back finals of an ICC event when they will take on New Zealand on this coming Sunday, and India’s HITMAN Sharma is the only captain in the International Cricket Arena who has led his team in all these finals till now. Sharma Ji achieved this rare feat in just three years of his captaincy stint with the Men in Blue.

1. World Test Championship 2023 –
India played two back-to-back World Test Championship finals and they were the first team to achieve that feat in Test Cricket. Now it is Australia who has equalled that record in the ICC event of the red ball form of the game in 2025. The Men in Blue reached the finals of WTC in 2021 under Virat Kohli‘s leadership for the first time.
In 2023, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the Blues went till the finals of the WTC event once again. In 2021, India faced New Zealand and in 2023, Rohit and his men faced the mighty Aussies. Sadly in both the occasions, the Men in Blue lost that one-off Test event when it was played in England.
2. ODI World Cup 2023 –
The World Cup of the 50-over format was played in India, and like the 2011 WC, everyone expected that the Indian team would again clinch the title as they had in 2011 under MS Dhoni. India had a remarkable run in that whole tournament as the hosts, dominated every game.
But in the Finals of the ODI World Cup 2023, India failed to light up that spark which they showed in the previous matches of that ODI event. India faced Australia twice in that tournament. The Blues won the first encounter. However, the Aussie bowlers and Travis Head denied India their third ODI World Cup trophy in 2023.
3. T20 World Cup 2024 –
Rohit Sharma had led India in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup before in 2022. That edition was played in Australia and India reached the semifinal stage of that ICC event of the shortest format. As we all know, the T20 World Cup 2024 was played in the USA for the first ever time and West Indies had also hosted matches.
India won their matches versus Pakistan, Ireland, the hosts, the United States of America, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, England in the semifinals and South Africa in the finals. Rohit Sharma became just the second Indian skipper to win the T20 title in 2024.
