The Chennai Super Kings, the five-time champion of the Indian Premier League will play their first game in TATA IPL 2025 against their counterpart, Mumbai Indians on Sunday, 23rd March 2025 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen practising in the net sessions of CSK.
Mahi Bhai does not play any competitive cricket other than the IPL since he announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020. But according to the viral video shared on social media, Mahendra Singh Dhoni can still compete against any world-class pace bowler.
In the training session of the Chennai Super Kings, Mahendra Singh Dhoni whacked CSK’s and Sri Lankan premier fast bowler, Matheesha Pathirana for a six and he had hit his favourite helicopter shot, which reminded his fans about his prime days when Mahi used to dominate the Sri Lankan legend, Lasith Malinga.
The 43-year-old young wicketkeeper batter had an impressive strike rate of 220.55 in the last five seasons of the Indian Premier League and that too, despite the issues with his knees. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the world’s best finisher, has played that role for CSK and he will be continuing with that in this edition as well.
