Sensex Closed at 81,050, Down 638 Points- Nifty Also Fell 218 Points, BSE Small Cap Fell 1,827 Points

Sensex Closed – On the first trading day of the week today, i.e. on October 7, the Sensex closed at 81,050 with a fall of 638 points. Nifty also fell by 218 points, it closed at 24,795.

At the same time, BSE Small Cap closed at 54,117, down 1,827 points. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 fell and 7 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 40 fell and 10 rose. All closed with a decline except the IT sector of NSE.

Asian markets were bullish

  • HDFC Bank, Reliance, SBI, and Axis Bank brought the market down the most. Whereas, ITC, Bharti Airtel, and Infosys pulled the market up.
  • In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei rose by 1.80%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index closed with a gain of 1.60% and Korea’s Kospi index closed with a gain of 1.58%.
  • On October 4, America’s Dow Jones closed 0.81% higher at 42,352 and Nasdaq closed 1.22% higher at 18,137. S&P 500 also closed 0.90% higher at 5,751.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹9,896.95 crore on October 4. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹8,905.08 crore.

Garuda Construction and Engineering IPO will open tomorrow

Garuda Construction and Engineering Limited’s Initial Public Offer i.e. IPO will open tomorrow. Investors will be able to bid for this issue till October 10. The company’s shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on October 15.

There was a decline in the market on Friday

Earlier on Friday, i.e. on October 4, the Sensex closed at 81,688 with a decline of 808 points (0.98%). Nifty also fell by 200 points (0.93%), it closed at 25,049.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 fell, and 9 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 37 fell, and 13 rose. There was a decline in all except the NSE’s IT sector. The media sector lost the most, by 2.53%.
