South Africa Vs India: India was handed their second loss in the shortest format in 2024. After losing to Zimbabwe at Harare earlier this year, The Men in Blue lost the second T20 International match of the four-match series. India was again invited to bat first in the second game at St. George’s Park in Gqenerha. But the batters couldn’t replicate their performance which they showed in the 1st match of this current series of the shortest format.
India scored just 124 runs on the board and in that, Hardik, Tilak and Axar scored in double digits. However, the bowlers bowled their hearts out in defending that lowish total. Varun Chakravarthy picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in that game which went in vain on Sunday and the visitors ended up losing this match by a margin of just three wickets.
In the 3rd T20I match, both teams will look to improve their batting performances. The hosts chased down this score with the loss of seven wickets. It was Tristan Stubbs’s unbeaten 47 runs in that nail-biting run chase which ensured that The Proteas level this series to one all with still two matches to be played in this four-match series of the shortest format.
South Africa’s batting failure was also seen poor in the 1st T20 International match as they were bundled out for just 141 runs in the pursuit of 203 runs at Kingsmead in Durban. Now the home side would be aiming to give a solid performance in tomorrow’s clash to take a series lead.
