Preparations for Starlink satellite internet service in India are in full swing. Starlink’s broadband internet service will be available in India soon. Elon Musk has now got the license to start Starlink service in another country.
Musk confirmed this through his X handle. With the launch of satellite broadband service, users will be able to experience internet services and calling without depending on any mobile network. Recently, Starlink also launched its satellite broadband service in India’s neighboring country Bhutan.
Elon Musk has confirmed through his X handle that Starlink services will now start in Somalia as well. The Somali government has given Starlink a license to start its services in the country. The launch of Starlink in a developing country like Somalia will make internet available even in remote areas where mobile networks or fiber broadband services are not available.
After Bhutan, Starlink Set to Roll Out Services in Somalia
The National Communications Authority of Somalia has officially licensed Starlink to launch its services in the country. Soon, Starlink’s satellite internet service will be available in Somalia.
Recently, the company has also launched its services in Bhutan. In Bhutan, the Residential Lite plan costs Nu 3,000 (approximately ₹3,100), which offers users internet speeds ranging from 23 Mbps to 100 Mbps.
How Does Satellite Internet Service Work?
Starlink’s satellite internet service is provided through its parent company SpaceX. To provide the service, ground terminals are installed, which help in delivering the internet to individual homes.
Starlink sets up these ground terminals or receivers to deliver satellite internet directly to users. The signal is received from the satellite by the terminal, and then transmitted to homes through connected wires. This means that high-speed internet can be used anywhere by installing a Starlink ground receiver.
