The stock market declined for the seventh consecutive trading day today, 18 November. Today, the Sensex closed at 77,339, down 241 points. The Nifty also fell 78 points, closing at 23,453.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 16 declined, and 14 rose. Today, IT and banking stocks declined. TCS stock fell 3.11%, while auto and FMCG stocks rose.
Mixed business for the stock market in Asia
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei fell by 1.09%. At the same time, Korea’s Kospi rose by 2.16% and China’s Shanghai Composite fell by 0.21%.
- The IPO of NTPC’s subsidiary company, NTPC Green Energy Limited, will open on November 19. Investors can bid for this public issue until November 22.
- On November 15, America’s Dow Jones fell by 0.70% to close at 43,444 and the S&P 500 fell by 1.32% to close at 5,870. Nasdaq closed at 18,680, down by 2.24%.
Mamaearth’s stock fell 20%
Mamaearth’s parent company Hosana Consumer’s stock witnessed a sharp decline today. The company’s stock fell 20% and closed at a lower circuit of Rs 297. The company released its quarterly results. In the July-September period, Hosana Consumer incurred a loss of Rs 19 crore, whereas in the year-ago period, the company had a profit of Rs 29 crore.
There was a decline in the stock market last week
Earlier on Thursday, November 14, the Sensex closed at 77,580 with a fall of 110 points. Nifty also fell by 26 points, it closed at 23,532. At the same time, BSE Smallcap closed at 52,381, up 429 points.
