Suzuki First Electric Car Will Come in the Name of E-Vitara

Suzuki India has revealed its first electric car in the global market at the motor show EICMA-2024 which started today (October 4) in Milan, Italy. This mid-size electric SUV named e-Vitara is the production version of the EVX.

Suzuki will introduce the car in India at the Global Mobility Show-2025. The company will start production of this electric SUV in February 2025 at the Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited plant. They expect it to be available for sale in Europe, Japan, and India by June. The company claims that the car will run up to 400 km on a single full charge.

Suzuki E-Vitara – The price may start from Rs 20 lakh

The company has not disclosed the price of the car. The price of E Vitara in India can start from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model with a 49kWh battery pack. At the same time, the price of the model with a 61kWh battery pack with a high-power motor can go up to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Apart from this, the price of the e-Allgrip AWD version can be close to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, the e Vitara electric SUV will compete with MG ZS EV, Tata Curve EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Mahindra BE05.

Exterior – With Y-shaped LED DRL

Suzuki E Vitara has been developed on the new Heartect-E platform, which the company has developed in collaboration with Toyota. The exterior design of Suzuki E Vitara is similar to the EVX concept model. Its front has thin LED headlights and Y-shaped LED DRL and integrated fog lights with stylish bumper.

With body cladding and 19-inch black wheels, the mid-size SUV looks quite muscular from the side. The door handle on the rear gate is placed on the C-pillar. Apart from this, there is also an electric sunroof on the roof. At the rear of the E Vitara, like the concept version, a connected LED tail light with 3-piece lighting elements has been provided.

Cabin: 6 airbags as standard and electronic parking brake expected

The E Vitara has a dual-tone black and orange cabin. It has a 2-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and chrome touch around the vertically oriented AC vents. The main highlight of its cabin is the integrated floating screen setup.

It is expected that the company will include features like automatic AC, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger in its electric car. Also, the car will include safety features like 6 standard airbags, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake.

Suzuki E-Vitara – Battery Pack and Range

In the European market, the company introduced the E Vitara with two battery pack options: a 49kWh and a 61kWh battery pack. The experts expect that its range on a full charge can reach up to 400 kilometers. The car will also offer options for 2-wheel drive and 4 wheel drive.
