T20 World Cup: After the completion of the TATA IPL 2024, let us move on to the next segment in cricket which is the World Cup event of 20 overs format. The last World Cup event of the shortest format was played in Australia in the year 2022. India reached the semi-final stage of that event.
England will play this edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 as the defending champions because they won the last edition of this tournament. This twenty20 tournament will start in the United States of America (USA) and it will also played in the West Indies in a few days.
This time again the Men in Blue will look to end their ICC trophy-less drought in this T20 World Cup. Rohit and his men reached the finals of last year’s World Test Championship and ODI World Cup in 2023. But they lost to Australia in both of these occasions. India hasn’t lifted an ICC Title since its 2013 Champions Trophy win in England.

In six matches, Kohli scored 296 runs with a strike rate of 136.41 and an average of 98.67, which was the best in the T20 World Cup edition of 2022.
The King has also smashed four half-centuries, which was the most and his knock of unbeaten 82 runs against Pakistan was his best knock in T20 World Cup 2022 event. Kohli also smashed 26 boundaries, the second most in the event and also hit eight sixes. King Kohli was listed in the eighth position in the overall list of the most sixes hit by the players.
T20 World Cup: 2 – Suryakumar Yadav –Â
SKY had the second most runs in the last edition of the T20 World Cup in 2022. He had played some excellent shots to keep India in the game during the last T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Suryakumar had scored the third-highest runs overall in the last T20 World Cup of 2022.
Yadav Ji has been a pure entertainment package. Although, Surya failed to perform in the must-win match of the semi-final against England, which India lost by 10 wickets. But still, he has done a decent job for India in that T20 International event. Overall, Suryakumar Yadav scored 239 from six matches and innings.
SKY also had the highest strike rate, 189.68, and an average of 59.75, which is not that bad as he has been listed in the top five players with the best average in this tournament. Suryakumar Yadav has smashed three half-centuries, which is the second most in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. SKY has smashed nine maximums and has been mentioned as fourth on the list. He has also scored the most boundaries in the tournament. The 360 Degree Batter has hit 26 fours.
SKY’s best performance came against South Africa at Perth. India was in bad shape when they batted first in that match. But Suryakumar Yadav played a gem of an innings on a tricky surface and against one of the best pace bowling attacks of the T20 World Cup 2022. Surya scored vital 68 runs, and one can say that this knock was the best knock in a losing cause.
