This special sword made of sandalwood was presented to PM Modi, the story of Maharana Pratap is shown in 7 scenes

Jaipur’s artists and their art are very famous not only in the country but also abroad. A wooden sword made by Vinod Jangid, a craftsman from here, was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma presented a sandalwood sword to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rising Rajasthan, which began on December 9. The specialty of this sword is that the biography of Rajasthan’s pride Maharana Pratap has been depicted through fine carving.

Specialty of the sword

This sword is 40 inches long, 2.5 to 4.5 inches wide and weighs about 2 kg. It is called Mysore sandalwood, in which 7 windows have been made. 6 in the front and 1 on the side. In one window, Maharana Pratap’s statue is made, while in the second, there is a scene of Chetak crossing the drain. In the third window, Maharana Pratap’s meeting with Bhamashah has been engraved and in the fourth, the scene of the fight between Maharana Pratap and Shakti Singh over hunting a pig has been created. In the fifth, there is a scene of a wild cat snatching away the grass roti made by Maharana Pratap in the forest. In the sixth, there is the Vijay Stambh of Chittorgarh, while in the seventh side, this window shows the scene of the battle of Haldighati.

To your knowledge, this sword was made by Jaipur artist Vinod Jangid. It took him 2 years to make.

How many awards did he get?

Vinod has received many awards so far. He was awarded the Shilp Guru Award in 2017. Along with this, he received the National Award in 1995, State Award in 1985 and Maharaja Sajjan Singh Samman in 2006. He is a third generation artist in this art. Jangid is originally from Churu and currently lives in Ramnagar Sodhala.

The entire collection was shown to the officials

Vinod says that recently some government officials came to him to get such artwork which is the most beautiful and different. Then Vinod showed him the entire collection from which he liked this sword made of sandalwood.
