Penalty will be imposed on waiting ticket
You must be aware that there are two types of reservations in Indian Railways. One online and the other offline. In such a situation, if someone books a ticket online and the ticket comes in waiting, then it gets cancelled automatically. But if a passenger books a ticket offline and the tickets goes into waiting, then that waiting tickets is not cancelled.
The passenger can travel with it. But if a passenger is seen travelling in reserved coaches with a waiting ticket, then a fine of Rs 440 can be imposed on him. Not only this, but if the TTE wants, such passengers can also be deboarded from the train at the next station.
Will have to travel in general coach
If a passenger is caught travelling in reserved coaches of the railway with a waiting ticket, then the railway can not only impose a fine on him but strict action can also be taken against him.
