A major decision by the UP government for social media users, monthly payments ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹8 lakh.
The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a new policy for those earning through social media. Under this policy, those promoting the government’s work will receive a monthly payment between ₹30,000 and ₹8 lakh, depending on their number of followers.
A new rule has been established wherein, when users want to share their schemes and achievements, through videos, tweets, posts, and pictures, they will create a list of companies that can help display these on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. These companies will be invited to create advertisements for this purpose.
Division Of Users In Four Categories
Social media users have been divided into four categories based on their followers on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The payment amounts for promoting on these platforms are set at ₹5 lakhs, ₹4 lakhs, ₹3 lakhs, and ₹2 lakhs per month, respectively.
For those promoting through podcasts, videos, and shorts on YouTube, the monthly payments will be ₹8 lakh, ₹7 lakh, ₹6 lakh, or ₹4 lakh. According to this policy, content must not be violent, obscene, or anti-national. If such content is found, strict action will be taken against the social media users, including possible imprisonment.
This policy aims to promote the government’s schemes and ensure their benefits reach the people. It applies to all residents of the state, including those living outside Uttar Pradesh for work or other reasons. On Tuesday, during the UP Cabinet meeting in Lucknow, the government passed 13 proposals, including this one.
