America has now taken important steps due to growing tensions between Iran and Israel. The United States has banned more than a dozen companies, individuals and ships accused of facilitating the illegal trade and transfer of drones on behalf of Iran’s military. Three Indian companies were also included in the list of banned companies imposed by America.
The US Treasury Department said that, according to the agency, these companies, individuals and ships played a significant role in facilitating and financing the covert sale of Iranian drones in Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Sahara Thunder has been identified in this case as a major company that monitors Iranian business to support these efforts. The three companies of India that are banned for supporting Sahara Thunder are Sea Art Ship Management Private Limited, Zen Shipping, and Port India Private Limited

Allegations On Companies

According to the Treasury of Russia and Venezuela, Iran’s military unit Sahara Thunder operates an extensive shipping network, handles logistics for the Iranian Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Armed Forces on behalf of the sale of goods to Iran and for shipment to the People’s Republic of China, which is in multiple jurisdictions.

According to a news agency, it was also reported that Sahara Thunder has entered into temporary agreements with India’s Zen Shipping and Port India Pvt Ltd for the Cook Islands-flagged vessel CHEM (IMO 9240914). It is operated and managed by UAE-based Safe Seas Ship Management FZE.

Task They Perform

Sahara Thunder will use CHEM for multi-cargo operations starting in 2022, according to the Ministry of Finance. The Iranian Arsang Safe Trading Company provided ship management services as a support service. of several shipments related to Sahara Thunder, including CHEM.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Iran’s Asia Marine Crown Agency acted as a port agent in Port Abbas, Iran, and supported several shipments of Sahara Thunder. India’s Private Limited Sea Art Ship Management (OPC) and the UAE company Trans Gulf Agency LLC have collaborated to provide ship management services in support of Sahara Thunder.
