The newly elected President of America, Donald Trump, is appointing important positions in his government. So far, 12 ministers have been appointed. One of them is Tulsi Gabbard, who has been given the responsibility of Director of National Intelligence. Everyone is surprised by Trump’s decision because Tulsi has no experience of working in the intelligence department. Let us tell you that Tulsi may not have any connection with India, but she believes in Hinduism like her mother. Although many people are discussing that Tulsi is of Indian descent, but it is not so. She was born in an American family and her father was Catholic and her mother was also Christian. But her mother had adopted Hinduism, after which she named her children according to Hinduism. Tulsi raises her voice against the atrocities being committed on Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan and has been a big supporter of them. Not only this, Tulsi goes to the temple, sings hymns of Ram Krishna, even when she took oath for this post in Parliament, she took it with her hand on the Bhagavad Gita.
What is Tulsi Gabbard’s political journey?
Gabbard started her political career at the age of just 21. She has been a four-time MP of the Democratic Party. Tulsi, who had participated in the Iraq War a decade ago as a lieutenant colonel and has also been a US Army reservist, recently joined the Republican Party. In October 2022, she left the party making serious allegations against the Democratic Party. She said that a select few influence this party and often support war.
In 2016, she was a presidential candidate from the Democratic Party and in 2020 also she participated in the primary elections, although later supported Joe Biden. After leaving the party, she joined Fox News and hosted several shows and campaigned for Republican candidates in the 2022 elections, after which she joined the Republican Party.
While in the US Parliament, Tulsi strongly criticized the policies of the Obama and Biden administrations. She has also been a strong critic of the current Vice President Kamala Harris. During the presidential race in 2019, Tulsi had surrounded Kamala Harris with tough questions in a debate, which brought her into the limelight. This was the reason that in the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris on September 10, 2022, Trump also took the help of Tulsi Gabbard for his preparation.
