T20 World Cup: The T20 World Cup in 2024 will start on June 2nd and India will start their campaign against Ireland on Wednesday, 5th June. Then the Men in Blue will play against Pakistan in the first round of this event. That classic encounter is scheduled on Sunday 9th June 2024.
India’s bowling wasn’t that great in the last T20 World Cup edition which was played in Australia two years back. Only one of their bowlers was ranked in the list of highest wicket-takers list. The Men in Blue didn’t have Jasprit Bumrah in their squad last time. But now Boom Boom Bumrah is back with the Indian Team. He can make a handful of difference in this event of the shortest format.
With Jasprit, Mohammed Siraj too has found his form and rhythm back in the TATA IPL 2024. Although, Siraj hasn’t been mentioned in the list of top wicket-takers list of this season of the Indian Premier League 2024 edition. But Jasprit Bumrah was the 3rd highest wicket taker from his franchise team Mumbai Indian in this season of the cash-rich league tournament. Bumrah picked up 20 scalps in 13 matches.
Arshdeep Singh Was The Lone Highest Wicket Taker For India In The Last Edition Of The T20 World Cup In 2022 in Australia –
Australia is generally suited for pace bowlers because of the conditions in that country. Despite all that, the Indian fast bowlers didn’t use those conditions and the spinners also didn’t support their team well. In that team, India had good pace bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Mohammed Shami with Arshdeep Singh.
Arshdeep was the lone highest wicket-taker from the Men in Blue in the last edition of the T20 World Cup in 2022 in Australia. He had picked up 10 wickets from just six games of that competition, which had included him at the 11th position in the overall list of the highest wicket-takers of that event of the shortest format.
Singh had the seventh-best strike rate of the T20 World Cup in 2022. Along with that, he had an average of 15.60, which was ranked in the 14th position. Arshdeep will look to improve his performance in this edition of the T20 World Cup in 2024 which will be played in the United States of America and West Indies.
Arshdeep was ranked as the seventh-highest wicket taker in the recently concluded TATA IPL 2024. His team didn’t do well in this competition because Punjab Kings weren’t that effective with the ball in hand and many times, their batters also failed to deliver in crunch moments. Singh had picked up 19 wickets from 14 games with one four-wicket haul to his name.
