ZIM Vs IND 3rd T20I: The five-match series of the shortest format is squared to one all after India won the second T20I match which was played on Sunday. But in the first match of this series, the hosts Zimbabwe stunned India and won that game by 13 runs. India’s bowling in the last few overs wasn’t that great.
Ravi Bishnoi did a good job and he picked up a four-wicket haul in that match. Zimbabwe had lost nine wickets for 91 runs. But due to the poor bowling from the pacers in final overs, the home side raced away to 115 runs and also gained that much-needed momentum. Avesh and Mukesh need to use all their experience in the backend overs and they shouldn’t allow the game to drift away like they did in the series opening match.
India’s batting wasn’t great in the 1st T20I match. They didn’t look like a champion team and that’s why Gill and Co fell 13 runs short of that target. However, in the second T20I which was played on 7th July 2024, India outplayed the Zimbabweans in all three departments. Abhishek Sharma, who failed to score a run in his debut game, slammed a century in his second T20I match for India.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rinku Singh also batted well which helped India to post a mammoth score of 234 runs in their 20 overs. Then the Indian bowlers did well and Bishnoi again was the pick of the bowlers from the Men in Blue side. He has been India’s highest wicket-taker in the first two matches of this five-match series.
India won the second T20I match by 100 runs and now the series is levelled to 1-1 with three more matches to be played. India will hope to continue their superb all-around display in the remaining games while the Zimbabweans will want to make a comeback and shock India in at least two matches which will help them to win this series of the shortest format for the first ever time versus India.
