President Draupadi Murmu has accepted his Resignation
On 19th March, Pashupati Paras from Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) resigned from the post of Union Minister, due to BJP’s exclusion from the seat-sharing deal in Bihar. President Draupadi Murmu has accepted his resignation. Now Kiren Rijiju has been assigned to the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
Who have advised Murmu to accept the resignation
As stated in the official release, The Prime Minister has advised the President to accept the resignation of Pashupati Paras under clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution.
The release further stated that The Prime Minister has advised the President to appoint Kiren Rijiju (Cabinet Minister) as the Minister of Food Processing Industries. Also, he will continue his existing portfolio.
Reason Behind Pashupati Paras’s Resignation
During an interview, Pashupati Paras said ‘Yesterday NDA alliance declared the list of 40 candidates for Bihar Loksabha Election, our party had 5 MP’s and I’ve worked at utmost sincerity, and this is an injustice to me and my party, therefore I resign from the post of Union Minister ‘.
The Loksabha election will be held in 7 phases starting from 19 April to 1 June and the results will be declared on 4th of June.
In previous elections of Lok Sabha held in 2019 in which BJP won 7 seats JD (U) secured victory on 16 seats. The Lok Janta Party had won 6 seats while INC only secured one seat.
