BJP New Campaign: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch its membership drive today, Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially kick off the campaign, which enables individuals across the country to join the BJP through various methods, including a missed call, the party’s website, the Namo app, WhatsApp, or by scanning a QR code on their phones.
Currently, the BJP boasts over 180 million members across India. However, with the commencement of this new campaign, the membership count will be reset to zero, and the process of enrolling new members will begin afresh.
PM Modi to Become the First Member
As part of this initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the first to register as a member. BJP President JP Nadda will facilitate his membership. Those interested in joining the BJP can easily do so online from the comfort of their homes using their phones.
How to Become a BJP Member
The BJP’s membership drive is being conducted entirely online. Prospective members can join by giving a missed call, visiting the party’s website, using the Namo app, or scanning a QR code with their phones. It’s important to note that BJP membership is valid for six years, after which the re-enrollment process begins. After PM Modi takes his oath on September 2, other leaders, including the Chief Minister, will follow suit on September 3.
Complete Information Required for Membership
Before enrolling, the BJP will collect detailed information from each prospective member. Each state has been assigned specific membership targets, with Rajasthan being tasked to enroll 10 million new members. Applicants will be required to submit complete documentation to the party.
AI Integration in the Campaign
Artificial Intelligence (AI) will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of this campaign, including preventing duplicate memberships. Through this drive, the BJP aims to strengthen its organization and expand its reach by connecting with more people. BJP officials will also conduct door-to-door outreach to encourage membership.
Membership Numbers in 2014 and 2019 Campaigns
BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde stated that according to the party’s constitution, a membership drive is required every five to six years. Once a new campaign is launched, the previous one is automatically canceled. In 2014, approximately 110 million people joined the membership drive, while in 2019, around 70 million people registered as members.
