IND Vs BAN: India and Bangladesh will meet in a two-match series of the red ball format starting tomorrow at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Bangladesh will now look to repeat their heroics in India, against whom they haven’t won a single Test match. However, the Men in Blue are the favourites to win the series played at home because of their recent performances in the red ball format and the record of Rohit Sharma and his men hold in the red ball format versus the Bangla Tigers.

Mushfiqur Rahim – The legendary wicketkeeper batter of the Bangladeshi team is the highest run-getter for his country against the Men in Blue in the red ball format. Bangladesh will need runs from Rahim to get their first win against India in the Test matches. Mushi has been the pillar of the Bangla Tigers side.

Till now, he has played 8 red ball matches and 15 innings against India. He has scored 604 runs which is the most by any player in the Bangladeshi team. Rahim has an average of 43.14, a strike rate of 52.79. He has also smashed two centuries which is the most by any current player of Bangladesh and he also has two half-centuries to his name in the red ball format matches versus the Men in Blue.

Virat Kohli – The King has been India’s run machine in all three forms of the game. Virat Kohli has the most runs against Bangladesh amongst the current players. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar holds the record of scoring the most runs in the overall list and King Kohli is fourth in that list. VK has scored 437 runs from six matches and nine innings with an average of 54.62 and a strike rate of 69.03. He has also smashed two tons against them in the red ball format.

Ravichandran Ashwin – The spin bowling all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin has picked up the most wickets amongst the current set of the Men in Blue bowlers. Ashwin is the third bowler in the overall list of highest wicket-takers against Bangladesh. Zaheer Khan has picked up the most wickets with the red cherry. Zak has picked up 31 scalps to his name against the Tigers in seven Test matches.

Ashwin is the premiere all-rounder of the Indian Test Team. He has played seven Test matches and 11 Test innings so far against Bangladesh. He has got 23 wickets with an average of 26.78, an economy rate of 2.98 and a strike rate of 53.8 with one five-wicket haul. His best match figures are six for 137 and his best innings figure is five for 87 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan – The former skipper of the team of Bangladesh is also the premiere all-rounder of the side. Shakib Al Hasan has picked up 21 wickets from eight matches and 12 red ball innings. Those 21 scalps are the most by any bowler of Bangladesh in the history of red ball form of the game against the Men in Blue. Hasan has also picked up one five wicket haul in the red ball format against India.

Shakib has an average of 37.95, a strike rate of 64.6 and an economy rate of 3.52. Only four players have picked up a five-wicket haul against India in the red ball format and Shakib Al Hasan is one of them. His best innings figure is five for 62 runs and his best match figures are seven for 172 runs. Shakib is also the player to watch out for in the series which will start from tomorrow.
