After that, it was only India who ruled the game from there and they never allowed Australia to make a comeback. In the second innings, India declared their innings for 487 runs for the loss of six wickets and set a target of a whopping of 533 runs. Chasing that mammoth score, the Aussies were all out for just 238 runs and India won the match by 295 runs.

Before the second red ball match starts at the Adelaide Oval, let us see the top five performers from India in the 1st Test match at Perth

1. Nitish Kumar Reddy –

Nitish Kumar Reddy

This man made his debut in this red-ball match, and that too against a quality team like Australia. Nitish scored a useful 41 runs in the first innings, which allowed India to reach a score of 150 runs. In the second innings, Nitish scored fast and entertained the crowd with fluent, unbeaten 38 runs. Reddy showed good composure and maturity in this maiden Test match.

2. Yashaswi Jaiswal –

Yashaswi Jaiswal

The Indian opener got out on a golden duck in his first-ever match in Australia. But he made up for that score with an amazing century in the second innings. Jaiswal also shared a partnership of 201 runs at the opening position with Kannur Lokesh Rahul, which set up this game in India’s favour. Yashaswi was the top scorer with 161 runs in the 2nd innings.

3. Virat Kohli –

King Kohli

The King had reached a three-figure mark in 2023 when Australia toured India for a Test series. But since then, Kohli came close to reaching a ton and still, he couldn’t achieve that personal milestone. However, King Kohli got to an unbeaten 100 runs in the second innings of the 1st red ball match and broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who had six centuries in Australia.

4. Mohammed Siraj –

This Indian pace bowler, Mohammed Siraj made his debut in the red ball format on the last tour of the Aussie nation when the whole team was struggling because of the injuries to many senior players. Siraj was the spearhead of the Indian pace bowling attack that time and this time, he proved his worth for India in both innings. He picked up five wickets in the whole test match for the Men in Blue.

5. Jasprit Bumrah –

This list cannot end without mentioning one of the finest pace bowlers that India has produced in all three forms of the game. Boom Boom Bumrah led his team from the front in the absence of Rohit Sharma. He was the one who pegged the Aussie back with a five-fer in the 1st innings and his decision of batting first on that wicket also turned out to be a masterstroke for India in this match. Jasprit was named as the Player of the Match for picking eight wickets in the opening encounter at Perth.
