Cold wave continues to hit Rajasthan and the temperature has dropped further after rain in many areas of the state on Monday. According to the Meteorological Department, the mercury is likely to fall further in the coming days. In view of this, the Rajasthan government has declared holidays for schools across the state.
Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar clarified that in accordance with the weather department’s warning of a significant drop in temperature from December 24, the winter vacation will be from December 25 to January 5 as per the Shivira Panchang of the Education Department.
Earlier, Minister Dilawar had said that holidays will be declared according to winter. But for the last two days, discussions have intensified due to contradictory statements on social media. Now, during his visit to Udaipur, he has made a clear announcement regarding winter holidays.
Rajasthan: Private Schools Must Comply with Orders
Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar has issued an order ordering both government and private schools to remain closed as per the announced schedule. He has warned that action will be taken in case of any negligence in implementing this instruction.
According to the Meteorological Department, there has been a significant change in the weather in the state, and cold winds are blowing across the region.
Rain in Several Areas
According to the Meteorological Department, in the last 24 hours, due to the new western disturbance, many areas of Rajasthan received light rain, while dense fog prevailed in some areas.
By Monday morning, many places including Ganganagar, Churu, Bikaner, Anupgarh, Taranagar, Pilani and Jhunjhunu recorded rainfall ranging from 1 mm to 10 mm.
The Meteorological Department said that dense fog prevailed in many areas of western Rajasthan. During this time, the minimum temperature in Alwar was recorded at 7.4 degrees Celsius.
Cold Weather to Intensify in the Coming Days
Apart from this, a new western disturbance will be active on 26-27 September, whose effect is expected to be felt in Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer and Bharatpur divisions as well as Shekhawati region.
Due to this disturbance, there is a possibility of cloudy weather and light rain in these areas.
