ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Finally after a lot of drama, the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan Cricket Broad (PCB) and BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket In India) have come to the conclusion that the India will play the matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
To host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the International Cricket Council had to face many challenges because BCCI wasn’t ready to send the Indian Cricket Team to Pakistan due to security reasons and Pakistan Cricket Board was also adamant to host the entire edition of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in their country.
The ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 will be played after eight long years. The last edition of CT (Champions Trophy) was played in the United Kingdom (England) in 2017 and Pakistan won that edition while India ended up that ICC mega event in the fifty overs format as the runners up.
ICC Champions Trophy In 2025 Kickstarts On 19th February 2025 In Karachi –
The hosts of this edition of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan will start this fifty overs event in Karachi when they will take on New Zealand on 19th February 2025. The ICC has named three venues in Pakistan. Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi will citirs to host the matches.
There will be two groups of four teams each. In the first group, which is A, India will play their matches versus Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. On the other hand, South Africa, Australia, England and Afghanistan will be placed in the second group which named as B.
In the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the teams like West Indies and Sri Lanka will not partcipate because they are not ranked in the top eight rankings of the One Day International form of the game. Afghanistan is a new team in this competition. The timings of the CT 2025 will be 2.30 PM according to the Indian Standard Time (IST).
India’s Matches Will Be Played In Dubai During The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 –
In the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Men in Blue will play all their matches at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The greatest cricket action will resume on Sunday, 23rd February 2025 when India will take on Pakistan in the clash of Group A fixture.
India will play three matches in the group stages and if they will win all those three One Day International matches then they will qualify for the semi finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. If India reaches the finals of this ICC ODI tournament then only the finals will be held in Dubai.
India’s Fixtures In ICC Champions Trophy 2025 –
India’s first encounter in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be against Bangladesh on Thrusday, 20th February 2025. On Sunday, the Men in Blue will take on their arch rivals, Men in Green and India’s last match would be versus New Zealand on Sunday 2nd March 2025. Timings for all those matches are – 2.30 PM IST, 1 PM Local and 9 AM GMT.
