In 2024, India lifted their second title of the T20 World Cup in the United States of America and the West Indies and now the Blues are again in a final of an ICC tournament.

India will face the winners of today’s semi-final two encounter, which is played between South Africa and New Zealand. Before the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy starts on Sunday, 9th March 2025 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, Let’s See How Many Times India Has Made It To The Champions Trophy Finals Till Now –

1. 2000

In 2000, the Champions Trophy was known as ICC Knock Out and that year’s edition was played at Nairobi in Kenya. The Men in Blue had reached the finals of that ICC event of the fifty overs format. The Blues won their matches against the hosts, Kenya, Australia and South Africa. But they couldn’t lift the trophy because they lost to New Zealand in the Champions Trophy finals of that year.

2. 2002

In 2002, India reached the second back-to-back Champions Trophy finals. That year, this eight-team tournament was played in the island nation of Sri Lanka. India defeated the teams like Zimbabwe, England and South Africa. Dada and his men were all set to play the 2002 Champions Trophy finals against the hosts, Sri Lanka. But the rains play a spoilsport as the game was abandoned and India, Sri Lanka were the joint winners of that edition.

3. 2013 –

The 2013 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy was played after a long gap of four years and India had ended the previous season on the group stages. In 2013, Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the only captain to win all the ICC Trophies. The Blues won their group stage matches versus South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, semi-final encounter against Sri Lanka and the thrilling final match against the hosts, England, to lift that year’s CT 2013 finals.

4. 2017 –

2017 Champions Trophy Final Was Won By Pakistan.

India was in the finals of the 2017 Champions Trophy finals, which was the second back-to-back time in the history of this ICC event of the 50 over format. This tournament was played under the leadership of Virat Kohli. India won their group stage games versus Pakistan and South Africa. But lost one match against Sri Lanka and versus Pakistan in the finals.

5. 2025

India is in the Champions Trophy finals once again and this is another chance for The Men in Blue to lift an ICC title just like they did in the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. The Blues won their matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan, New Zealand and the giants Aussies to book a place in the Champions Trophy finals this year under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
