CT 2025: Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out Of This ICC Mega Event Of The Fifty Overs Format –

Before heading to Dubai, India got a huge blow. Jasprit Bumrah will not play CT 2025. Boom Boom Bumrah has been India’s spearhead in the pace bowling department and that too in all three formats. Bumrah was also instrumental in helping India win the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the Caribbean.
Bumrah was named as the ICC Player of the Month twice in 2024 and he was also named as ICC Men’s Cricketer Of The Year in 2024. India’s lead pacer was even named the Man of The Tournament last year during the ICC mega event of the shortest form of the game.
Bumrah had captained two red ball matches against The Aussies and India won one match under his captaincy. But during the last match of the five-match red ball series, India’s star performer had to leave the field due to back issues and he couldn’t bowl again in that Test match.
For the CT 2025, Bumrah was also named in the initial squad. But now he has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a back injury. Boom Boom was also named in the third ODI against England today. However, his recovery process has been extended.
CT 2025: Varun Chakrabarty And Harshit Rana Are In India’s Squad For The Champions Trophy 2025 –

India’s spinner, Varun Chakrabarty and pacer Harshit Rana have been named in the squad for CT 2025. Varun had been impressive in the shortest format and he was also the highest wicket-taker in the five-match T20 International series against England. Due to that performance, Varun also made his ODI debut during the second match and he also picked up a wicket in his first-ever fifty overs game.
At the same time, Harshit Rana, who made his international debut during the first red ball match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024/2025, also played his first ODI game in the ongoing series against England. Now Rana will play CT 2025 alongside Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh, the two other pace bowlers in the squad for this tournament.
But Yashaswi Jaiswal has been removed from the final squad. Jaiswal also made his ODI debut during the first match in Nagpur while Mohammed Siraj’s name has also been not there. But Siraj will travel to Dubai with Shivam Dube. India is placed in Group A and their campaign will start on 20th February 2025.
