India Ambassador to Iran : In a major diplomatic recalibration amid rising geopolitical turbulence in West Asia, India has appointed senior diplomat Vishwesh Negi as its next Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Negi, a 2002-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer who currently serves as Joint Secretary in the MEA, is expected to take charge in Tehran shortly. He succeeds Rudra Gaurav Shresth, who has been reassigned as India’s Envoy to Türkiye.
