Jaipur Drug Crackdown: In a massive blow to illegal narcotics networks, the Jaipur City Police has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking under its flagship anti-drug initiative, ‘Mission Jagriti’.
According to media reports, local law enforcement agencies have successfully registered 53 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, resulting in the apprehension of 60 smugglers.
As part of the ongoing enforcement drive aimed at making Jaipur a drug-free city, illegal narcotics valued at an estimated ₹5.18 crore have been destroyed by authorities.
According to senior police officials, the campaign has also resulted in the seizure of 35 vehicles used by smugglers to transport illegal substances across the city limits.
Strategic Enforcement Under Mission Jagriti
Jaipur Drug Crackdown: The anti-drug campaign, which officially commenced on April 17, is being executed under the direct leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Rajarshi Raj.
Beyond active policing and arrests, the campaign places significant emphasis on community coordination to transform local administrative zones into “Drug-Free Wards.”
According to local reports, a community sensitization program was organized at the Patrakar Colony police station on Friday.
The event successfully brought together approximately 400 participants, including public representatives, ward councillors, coaching institute directors, and school children, to align public efforts with law enforcement goals.
Substantial Drug Seizures and Financial Crackdown
Jaipur Drug Crackdown: Statistical data from the ongoing police operations highlights a dramatic surge in anti-drug enforcement compared to previous timelines.
According to the police, there has been a notable 63.83% increase in registered NDPS cases compared to the previous year.
Major Contraband Recoveries
Law enforcement teams have recovered a significant quantity of diverse synthetic and plant-based drugs from the arrested suspects. According to official statements, the seizures include:
Ganja (Cannabis): 15 kilograms and 400 grams
Smack (Heroin derivative): 492 grams
Cocaine: 102 grams
MDMA: Substantial quantities recovered from the accused.
Arrest of High-Profile Fugitives
Out of the 60 smugglers taken into custody, authorities revealed that seven are high-profile wanted criminals, each carrying a state bounty of ₹40,000.
Furthermore, the Jaipur Police department is actively preparing detailed legal dossiers to freeze and seize movable and immovable assets accumulated by these traffickers through their illegal earnings.
Multi-Department Interventions: Protecting the Student Community
To safeguard youngsters from falling into substance abuse patterns, the administration has designed a multi-layered security web in areas densely populated by students.
Secret Complaint Boxes in Coaching Centers
According to official reports, under the supervision of Additional DCP Lalit Sharma, special operational teams are utilizing advanced technology like drones and trained dog squads to continuously monitor sensitive areas and slum pockets.
To provide a safe whistleblowing mechanism for students, the police have installed dedicated “Mission Jagriti Complaint Boxes” across prominent coaching institutes.
This allows students to securely drop anonymous tips regarding local drug peddling networks without the fear of revealing their identity.

As per media sources, this massive anti-drug framework is functioning through a coordinated six-department grid, which includes:

Department of Education
Department of Medical and Health
Department of Social Justice and Empowerment

To bolster grassroots intelligence, the police department has urged ordinary citizens to actively report suspicious narcotic activities in their neighborhoods.
