Cab aggregator platforms Ola and Uber have responded to the government’s notice. Both companies were asked why they show different prices for the same ride to iPhone and Android users.
In response to the notice, both companies clarified that they do not determine the price of the ride based on the user’s phone. The companies have stated that they are committed to clearing any misunderstanding related to this issue.
The Central Consumer Protection Authority issued a notice to Ola and Uber after receiving several reports. In the notice, both the companies have been asked why they show different charges to the users.

Ola and Uber Responds to CCPA Notice
An Ola spokesperson said in a statement, “We have a consistent pricing structure for all customers. We do not show different prices for the same ride based on the operating system.”
In their statement released on Friday, the spokesperson mentioned that they have informed the CCPA about the matter and are ready to work with the CCPA to clear any misunderstandings.
Uber has also given a similar statement. Uber’s spokesperson said, “We do not set ride prices based on the phone manufacturer. We are ready to work with CCPA to resolve this issue.” Apple and Google have not yet given any information in this matter.
