First Elections Post Article 370 Removal

Politics: This marks the first election in Jammu & Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. Political parties are in full swing with their campaigns, and PM Modi joined the fray with a rally in Doda. During his speech, he targeted the National Conference, PDP, and Congress, heavily criticizing them.

Battle Between Three Political Families and J&K’s New Generation

Addressing the crowd, PM Modi stated that this election is a contest between three political dynasties and the new generation of Jammu & Kashmir. The first dynasty belongs to the Congress, the second to the National Conference, and the third to the PDP. He further accused these political families of betraying the people of the state, equating their actions to a grave injustice.

“Terrorism is Breathing its Last”

Focusing on the issue of terrorism, PM Modi reminded the people of the days when curfews were suddenly imposed as dusk fell. He pointed out how, at one time, the situation was so dire that Congress’s own Home Ministers were afraid to visit Lal Chowk. “In the past decade, the changes in the region are nothing short of a dream,” he said. “The stones that were once thrown at the police and army are now being used to build a new Kashmir. Terrorism is on its last breath.”

BJP Will Restore the Rights of Kashmiri Pandits

Speaking about the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, PM Modi expressed his commitment to ensuring their rights. He paid tribute to Tika Lal Taploo, a Kashmiri Pandit leader assassinated by terrorists. PM Modi said, “It was after his death that the atrocities against Kashmiri Pandits began. The BJP has always raised its voice for them and worked toward their cause.” He announced the “Tika Lal Taploo Plan,” which aims to restore the rights of Kashmiri Hindus.

BJP Will Build a New Jammu & Kashmir

PM Modi reiterated that the BJP envisions a Jammu & Kashmir free from both terrorism and terrorists. “In the future, this region will be nothing short of a paradise for tourists,” he said. He assured that all citizens, regardless of religion, will have equal rights, and protecting these rights will be the BJP’s top priority.

BJP Will Grant Full Statehood to J&K

The Prime Minister also touched upon the issue of statehood, promising that only the BJP will restore Jammu & Kashmir’s status as a full state. However, he cautioned people to stay away from those who seek to strip them of their rights for selfish motives.

Sharp Criticism of the Opposition

PM Modi did not hold back while attacking the opposition. He accused them of “carrying the Constitution in their pockets” while engaging in corrupt activities. He said the people of Jammu & Kashmir are fully aware of the opposition’s true nature. He also noted that it was the BJP that granted reservations to many in the region after decades of neglect.

Congress’s Agenda is Misguided

Taking a jab at Congress, PM Modi pointed out how their leadership’s words reflect their flawed intentions. He cited a remark from the Congress president, who had said that if the party won more than 20 seats, BJP leaders would be behind bars. “Is that their agenda?” PM Modi questioned.

A Secure and Prosperous Jammu & Kashmir

PM Modi concluded by emphasizing that only the BJP’s vision and the support of the people can bring about a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Jammu & Kashmir. He urged voters to give the BJP a strong majority in the upcoming assembly elections on September 18.
