UP Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana 2026: Planning a daughter’s wedding can be a significant financial challenge for economically weaker families.
To ease this burden and ensure respectable marriages for girls from underprivileged backgrounds, the Uttar Pradesh government has introduced major upgrades to the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana for the year 2026.
In a massive relief to low-income households, the state government has nearly doubled the financial assistance provided under the scheme and relaxed the income criteria, allowing more families to benefit from the initiative.
Here is everything you need to know about the new changes, eligibility rules, and how to apply for the scheme.
Major Upgrades in the 2026 Scheme
UP Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana 2026: The state government has revised two primary rules to expand the reach and impact of the mass marriage scheme:
Increased Financial Aid: Previously, the government provided assistance of ₹51,000 per couple. Under the new 2026 guidelines, this amount has been increased to a total of ₹1,00,000.
Relaxed Income Limit: The maximum annual family income limit to qualify for the scheme has been raised from ₹2,00,000 to ₹3,00,000. This change brings thousands of new families under the scheme’s umbrella.
How the ₹1 Lakh Assistance is Distributed
The government does not hand over the entire ₹1,00,000 in cash. To ensure the funds are used effectively to help the newlywed couple start their life, the amount is divided into three specific categories:
| Allocation Area | Amount | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) | ₹60,000 | Transferred directly to the bride’s Aadhaar-linked bank account to ensure financial security and transparency. |
| Household Gifts & Essentials | ₹25,000 | Utilized for essential household items, jewelry, clothing, and other marriage-related necessities for the couple. |
| Event Organization | ₹15,000 | Allocated for organizing the mass marriage ceremony, including food arrangements, tent setup, seating, electricity, and other event logistics. |
What is Included in the Gift Package?
The state ensures the couple gets a strong start by providing essential household items worth ₹25,000. This includes clothes, utensils, bedding, a ceiling fan, an iron, a trolley bag, a vanity kit, and a wall clock.
Additionally, traditional jewelry such as silver anklets (payal) and toe rings (bichhiya) are gifted to the bride.
Who Can Avail the Benefits? (Eligibility Criteria)
To apply for the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana, applicants must fulfill the following government-mandated conditions:
