Must read

IND Vs ENG: The Men In Blue have been dominant in the shorter version of the game. They have won the first T20 International of the five-match series and lead the T20I series by a margin of 1-0. India bowled superbly in the series opener at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Varun Chakabarthy was the star with the white cherry and Abhishek Sharma was the hero with the bat which helped India to seal the 1st T20I match by seven wickets. Apart from Suryakumar Yadav, everyone chipped in with the bat. In the next match, SKY will want to do a better job as a batter.

The Men In Blue Continue Their Dominance

India will also look to bring Mohammed Shami in for the next game and the rest of the series. All eyes were on Shami’s comeback on Wednesday. But the Vetran pace bowler wasn’t included in India’s playing eleven. Instead of Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shami should walk into the XI.

England on the other hand had a bad game. The England batters couldn’t read Varun Chakrabarty at all in the last game and this is a sign of concern for the visitors because Varun will be a threat to these batters from England in the remaining T20Is and the fifty matches as well, which will follow soon after this five-match series of the shortest format gets over.

Jos Buttler was the only one who scored more than sixty runs at Kolkata. At the same, time, the other England batsmen couldn’t even cross 20 run mark in the first match. After Buttler’s 68 runs, 17 runs from Brook was the second-highest scorer of England’s innings.

England batters must step up as a whole unit in the next match to level the series to one-all. Batters like Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, Philip Salt, and Liam Livingstone should use their IPL experience in the next game. Buttler should continue to open the innings in T20Is.

In the last match, the England skipper batted at number three position while Ben Duckett opened the innings with Philip Salt. Buttler is a dangerous batter who can control things more perfectly if he opens the innings in the limited overs format. England can drop Duckkett and pick Jarmie Smith or Brydon Carse in their playing XI for the 2nd T20I match.
