Andhra Pradesh Shocking Murder: The quiet roads winding up the Mallappa Konda hills in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district recently became the backdrop for a horrific crime that has shocked local communities.
What was meant to be a holy family trip to a hilltop temple on the auspicious day of Amavasya turned out to be a meticulously coordinated trap.
According to local police reports, a 19-year-old woman, identified as Hasini, allegedly conspired with her childhood friend and lover, Yugandhar (20), to murder her 23-year-old husband, Ramesh.
The investigation has revealed a chilling sequence of events where digital technology, specifically live location sharing, was weaponized to carry out the crime.
A Marriage Built on Secrets
Andhra Pradesh Shocking Murder: The victim, Ramesh, was a resident of Sulagiri in the Krishnagiri district of neighboring Tamil Nadu.
He worked at a private firm in Hosur and had been married to Hasini, a native of Shantipuram in Andhra Pradesh, for about two years.
The couple shared a young daughter, and to their relatives, they appeared to be living a normal life.
However, investigators allege that beneath the surface, Hasini had maintained an active relationship with her childhood friend, Yugandhar.
Media reports suggest that the duo viewed Ramesh as an obstacle to their relationship and decided to eliminate him.
They allegedly formulated a plan to execute the murder in a secluded forest stretch where escape and concealment would be easier.
The Hillside Trap: Live Location and the ‘Dropped Bag’ Gambit
Andhra Pradesh Shocking Murder: According to statements from the Chittoor district police, Hasini persuaded Ramesh to take her and their young daughter to the Sri Malleshwara Swamy Temple, located atop the Mallappa Konda hills in the Gudupalle mandal.
The conspiracy unfolded systematically along the journey:
Real-Time Tracking: As Ramesh rode the motorcycle with his family, Hasini allegedly used her smartphone to continuously share their live location with Yugandhar, who was waiting in ambush with his accomplices.
The Stage-Managed Interruption: Upon reaching the third hairpin bend of the steep hill road a highly isolated area Hasini reportedly dropped her handbag onto the road.
The Ambush: As Ramesh stopped the motorcycle and dismounted to retrieve the bag, Yugandhar and two accomplices emerged from the thickets.
Realizing the danger, Ramesh reportedly fled into the nearby forest to save his life. However, the attackers pursued him for nearly 100 meters before cornering him and hacking him to death with sharp weapons.
Horrifically, police sources indicate the crime took place while the couple’s toddler daughter was nearby.
How CCTV and Digital Footprints Cracked the Case
The plot began to unravel on the very same night. Worried that her daughter and granddaughter had not returned home, Hasini’s mother approached the local police to file a missing persons report.
An immediate investigation was launched, and the police turned to technology to retrace the family’s steps:
1.CCTV Discrepancies
When investigators reviewed surveillance footage along the temple route, they noticed a stark and highly suspicious discrepancy.
While Ramesh was captured riding up the hill with his wife and child, later footage showed Hasini riding the same motorcycle back down the hill but instead of her husband, she was accompanied by two unidentified men.
2.Technical and Location Analysis
Detectives cross-referenced the mobile tower locations, call data records (CDR), and data activity of the suspect phones. The digital footprint clearly showed real-time coordination between Hasini’s device and Yugandhar’s device along the exact path of the climb.
Armed with this data, search teams recovered Ramesh’s body from the forest. Within hours of the initial report, police arrested Hasini, Yugandhar, and their two accomplices.
Potential Child Marriage Investigation Underway
As the murder investigation proceeds, the authorities are also looking into a secondary legal issue. Following the arrests, village locals claimed that Hasini was a minor specifically studying in Class 9 when her marriage to Ramesh took place two years ago.
According to police officials, investigators are currently verifying her official birth documents and school records.
If the claims of her being a minor at the time of marriage are validated, separate criminal proceedings will be initiated against the family members involved under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, alongside the ongoing trial for first-degree murder and conspiracy.
The four accused remain in police custody as the investigation continues to build a watertight case for the court.
