No Bulldozer Action Till 1 October- Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has banned the bulldozer action being taken across the country. The next hearing on this matter will now be on October 1. Till then, the permission of the Supreme Court will be mandatory before taking any action.

However, this decision will not apply to illegal construction done by blocking the road, footpath, or railway line. The Supreme Court said that after hearing all the parties, guidelines will be made regarding bulldozer action across the country.

Bulldozer will not run without permission – Supreme Court
On the petition filed against the action of demolition of the buildings of accused persons as a punitive measure by different state governments, the bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Vishwanathan directed that till October 1, there will be no bulldozer action anywhere in the country without the permission of the court.

In the petition filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the petitioner Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, it was said that bulldozer action is being taken by targeting Muslims in BJP ruled states. During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta objected to the Supreme Court’s order and said that the hands of the officials cannot be tied in this way.

The Supreme Court said that if the demolition is stopped for a week, then ‘the sky will not fall’. The court has given this direction using its special powers under Article 142 of the Constitution.

Bulldozer action was taken

There was a ruckus after the suspicious death of a cow in a multi-story building in Sodalala, Jaipur. After that Municipal Corporation squad seized the building and started the action of demolishing the illegal construction.

The Yogi government took major action against the accused of Ayodhya gang rape and sealed his bakery and the administration also took bulldozer action regarding illegal property.

In Udaipur, Rajasthan, a class tenth student stabbed his classmate. After which the officials bulldozed the house of the accused and demolished it.
